It is so very simple. Yet so hard to do.

This morning in an art lesson one of my beautiful students shared with me some issues she is having at work. We agreed that it is easy to become overwhelmed, not just from external pressure but also from pressure that we put on ourselves.

Indeed, it takes very little for us to feel like we have too much to do and not enough time.

When we feel like this, it is necessary for us all to stop and take time out. Mostly, I paint at those tiems, and I also swim, walk, dance, breathe or pray.

It helps.

Often, after just a few moments of peace and inner separation, I can feel the calmness moving through my body.

I feel so very different, so much better, if I can step away from the stress and pressure.

It is so very simple.

Yet so hard to do.

This same student asked me to please organise an Art Retreat this year, as she enjoyed last year’s retreat so much.

For her, this is a time to breathe, to rest, to laugh, to be playful, and to create art. All this comes from simply setting aside this special time to create and to be connected.

I am grateful that I am able to provide this time for my students. I love that I can be part of it and get the chance to enjoy the many artworks which are created, and coming home so fulfilled.

If you feel you could benefit from time out for yourself and would like to join us, please check out the details below and let me know as soon as possible. I have just one queen room and space left, which could also be a twin share, if you would like to bring a friend.

I am very excited to go with you on this extraordinary journey together.

With love,

Kirana
